The Perfect Healthy Stocking Stuffer and Holiday Baking Tips

Christmas is just 49 days away! It’s time to start planning for the holidays. From shopping to baking to party planning, there’s lots to do to get ready for the season. Make your holidays merrier this year with stevia.

Stevia is a sugar substitute made from the leaves of the stevia plant. It’s about 100 to 300 times sweeter than table sugar, but it contains no carbohydrates, calories, or artificial ingredients, making it a healthier option to feed your holiday cravings for sweet treats.

Stuff Those Stockings with SteviaDent

Stevita SteviaDent sugar-free chewing gum is the perfect stocking stuffer for the kiddos or sweet treat to gift to friends, co-workers, neighbors or even your mail person.

Excess sugar consumption often goes hand-in-hand with the holidays. In addition to a slew of health problems, too much sugar can make you feel moody, sluggish and bloated. Feel better and healthier by reaching for a pack of SteviaDent instead of candy or cookies this holiday season.

SteviaDent is the only sugar-free gum sweetened with organic stevia and pure Xylitol. It’s diabetic-friendly and promotes good oral health unlike sugary bubble gum. Available in five classic flavors – Cinnamon, Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintergreen and Fruit -, there’s a flavor everyone will enjoy.

Holiday Baking the Healthy Way

Cut back or eliminate sugar all together during the holidays, by swapping stevia for table sugar in your holiday recipes. Your family and holiday guests will get all the flavor of their favorite Christmas sweets without all the unhealthy side effects or calories.

Baking with stevia has a bit of a learning curve. Since stevia is so much sweeter than sugar, a direct substitution can not be made in recipes. Generally, one cup of regular white sugar can be replaced with approximately one teaspoon of liquid stevia, ½ teaspoon of stevia extract powder or approximately 20 packets of granular stevia.

Because only a small amount of stevia is needed to produce a sweet flavor compared to the amount of regular sugar, the other ingredients in your recipes must be adjusted to account for the lost bulk and prevent your baked goods from falling flat. For every cup of sugar you substituted, add 1/3 cup of liquid or bulk to balance it out. Applesauce, yogurt, fruit juice and pumpkin are great choices to replace the lost bulk.
